Monday starts on Sunday night

I know your Sunday. The laptop is open at nine. You are looking for a song about the weather, a story that is not too long, an activity that will hold four-year-olds for more than three minutes.

Then Monday comes. The lesson you planned for two hours lasts twenty minutes. Attendance is on a paper list, a spreadsheet and a voice note. A mother asks how her son is doing, and you scroll back through months of messages to remember.

None of this is a teaching problem. It is a week with no place to live.

Is this for you?

Be honest. It saves us both time.

This is for you if

  • ✓

You teach English to children aged 3 to 7

  • ✓

You teach privately, freelance or in a school

  • ✓

You plan on weekends and still improvise on Monday

  • ✓

Your attendance lives in three different places

  • ✓

You want families to see the work you do

  • ✓

English is your first language, or your fourth

This is not for you if

  • ✕

You are looking for a teaching course. This is the tool

  • ✕

You teach only teenagers or adults

  • ✕

You want someone else to plan your lessons for you

  • ✕

You prefer to keep everything on paper

It was never you. It was the scattered week.

You do not need more activities. You have hundreds, saved in folders you cannot find.

What you need is one place where the year, the week and the lesson connect. Where every child has a history. Where a family message sits next to the lesson it is about.

That is what I wanted for my own classes. So we built it.

The way it usually goes

  • ✕

Three hours with a blank notebook and a search bar.

  • ✕

Twelve open tabs and a phone full of half-saved videos.

  • ✕

A paper list, a spreadsheet and a voice note.

  • ✕

Nobody notices until the third week.

  • ✕

You write a report from memory, late at night.

  • ✕

The message gets lost somewhere in your inbox.

Planning, searching, chasing attendance and answering messages. Move the sliders and be honest.

This is what your unpaid planning and admin time is worth each year:

$0

That is {hours} hours a year, or {weeks} full working weeks.

This is an estimate of your time, not a promise of savings. The portal does not do the work for you. It keeps the work in one place, so you stop doing it twice.

Who is behind this

I am Roberta Maldonado. I have been a teacher since I was ten years old, when I taught my four-year-old brother to read because he was hiding behind the door at preschool rather than go in.

At nineteen I moved to London. I read Languages at the University of London, took my CELTA, specialised at the Montessori Centre International, and completed a Master's in TESOL.

Then I taught in Brazil and in Spain — four schools in one day, everything I owned in a wheeled bag, ten-hour days, a voice that was giving out and a rash no doctor could explain.

With every one of those qualifications finished, I stood in a classroom and decided the problem must be me. It was not. It was a model that put content at the bottom and the child at the top, and then blamed the teacher when it did not work.
So I built my own. I combined Montessori, Total Physical Response and Positive Discipline into a single method for three-to-six year olds — BETA for Very Young Learners. The following term the children loved the sessions, parents started recommending me by name, and the school gave me permission to drop their materials entirely.

Then the pandemic closed the schools. English teachers lost their jobs. My Very Young Learner groups moved online — and gained students.

That is when I stopped calling it something that worked for me, and started calling it a method.
